Sara Nikšić

Marine Biologist - Ecologist - Bioacoustician - Musician - Award-winning Composer - Storyteller - Educator

‘It is beyond time that we see ourselves as a part of nature, as equals, and not on top of or more advanced than any other species.’

Ahoy! My name is Sara Nikšić, also known by my artist alias Inner Child

I am a marine biologist, ecologist, bioacoustician, musician, award-winning composer, storyteller and educator, among many other things.

My research has taken me across the world’s oceans – from my homeland of Croatia to Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, California, New Caledonia, Tonga, Greenland and Antarctica. A big part of my work also revolves around nature conservation and education, along with creating music, stories and art-science projects.

I was blessed with the opportunities to work with some of the most incredible beings, scientists and artists on this planet, and to present my work at some of the biggest scientific conferences, institutes and music festivals in the world.

Ideas to tickle the mind. Stories to touch the heart.
Journeys to heal the body. Music to awaken the soul.

More about my journey, from Croatia, to Scotland, Tonga and beyond.
Albums of my own music, as well as compilations on which I collaborated.
My lectures, workshops and performances, both past and future.
I work at the intersection of Art and Science. Some of my best art was inspired by my scientific research, and vice versa.
My research focuses on marine mammals – their vocal communication, culture and more.
I’ve been featured in newspapers and magazines, appeared on podcasts and more.

If you find value and inspiration in my work, your support would be much appreciated! 😀
